About Ladder of Life — A Kitten’s Journey
Ladder of Life — A Kitten’s Journey is an Arizona 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of cats and kittens through rescue, Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), rehabilitation, adoption, and community support.
What began as a commitment to helping vulnerable kittens and community cats has grown into an established rescue organization serving Chandler and surrounding East Valley communities. In nearly two years, Ladder of Life has helped more than 200 cats and kittens through rescue, TNR, and adoption, while continuing to expand the programs and partnerships that make this work possible.
Our rescue provides hands-on care for kittens and cats who may otherwise have few options, including orphaned and neonatal kittens, kittens born to community cats, abandoned and friendly stray cats, and animals requiring additional medical or rehabilitative care. Through TNR, we also work to address the source of feline overpopulation by humanely sterilizing community cats and returning appropriate cats to their established colonies.
As the organization has grown, so has our network of support. Ladder of Life has developed valuable relationships with veterinary clinics, fellow rescue organizations, community caregivers, volunteers, donors, and residents throughout the East Valley. We have also established adoption partnerships with Petco and Petfinder, helping our adoptable cats and kittens reach more families and find permanent homes.
Our work increasingly extends beyond individual rescue cases. Ladder of Life participates in local conversations surrounding community-cat welfare and TNR, including attending and speaking at Chandler City Council meetings regarding municipal TNR funding and the continued need for accessible spay/neuter resources. We believe lasting change requires not only rescuing the animals in front of us, but also addressing the conditions that continue to put cats and kittens at risk.
