At Ladder of Life: A Kitten’s Journey, we believe in small miracles—and sometimes, they come in the form of a 15-year-old girl with a heart bigger than all 9 of our kittens combined. 🐱💕

From the moment she stepped into our kitten lives, this incredible young volunteer has shown nothing but compassion, responsibility, and pure love for the tiniest lives in our care. Without being asked, she comes over daily—yes, religiously—to check on each kitten, weigh them, clean up after them, and help us give them the attention and care they deserve. She doesn’t clock in or get a paycheck... she gives something far more valuable: her time. ⏳💛

One day, as she struggled to weigh the constantly wiggling fluffballs (we’ve all been there 😂), her dad stood by watching. Without hesitation, he pulled out his phone and ordered a larger, more reliable scale on Amazon—just like that. Watching his daughter’s dedication, he gave in the best way he could: with a gift that makes her job easier and these babies safer.

This is what volunteering looks like. It’s not always glamorous—it’s messy, exhausting, and sometimes heartbreaking. But it’s also beautiful. It's the kind of selfless love that doesn’t show up on a résumé but changes the world for a few tiny lives at a time.
